उषा
प्रात: नभ था बहुत नीला शंख जैसे
भोर का नभ;
राख से लीपा हुआ चौका;
अभी गीला पड़ा है
बहुत काली सिल ज़रा से लाल
केसर से
कि जैसे धुल गई हो
स्लेट पर या लाल खड़िया चाक
मल दी हो किसी ने
नील जल में या किसी की
गौर झिलमिल देह
जैसे हिल रही हो।
और… जादू टूटता है इस उषा का अब
सूर्योदय हो रहा है।
एक पीली शाम

पतझड़ का ज़रा अटका हुआ पत्ता
शांत
मेरी भावनाओं में तुम्हारा मुखकमल
कृश म्लान हारा-सा
(कि मैं हूं वो मौन दर्पण में तुम्हारे कहीं?)
वासना डुबी
शिथिल पल में
स्नेह काजल में
लिये अद्भुत रूप कोमलता
अब गिरा, अब गिरा वो अटका हुआ
आंसू
संध्या तारक-सा
अतल में।

Daybreak
The sky at day break
like a blue conch;
the sky at day break
like a wet kitchen floor freshly
coated with coal ash,
or
like a black stone slab
with red saffron washed,
like a slate rubbed
by someone with reddish chalk,
like a fair body slowly
moving in blue water
and … then
the magic of this daybreak
now ends.
The sun rises.
An Evening Pale
An evening pale
like a yellow leaf, of fall,
still on its branch.
Calm
in my mind your lotus face
learn and tired a little lost
(or is that me reflected in your silent looking glass?)
In that fatigued moment
after the lusts’ dip,
full of amazing gentle beauty
the collerium of feeling
a tear about to fall … about to
fall
like an evening star,
shooting, into bottomless
depths.
